630 miles in 39 days

so the south west coast path - hereafter "swcp" cos i'm lazy - website says that walking the whole path should take 7 to 8 weeks (49 to 56 days), but i'm doing it in 39... why 39? that's how many days there are between the end of my course and my sister's hen do. it works out at an average of about 16 miles a day and since that seems vaguely do-able i decided i'm going for it.

i'm planning on walking it solo, but i'd greatly appreciate any company if anyone feels like joining me for anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

my itinerary is based around when i'll be passing youth hostels:

leave me a comment below to let me know if you wanna join in...

  2. Trying to figure out when i can join you!! Having studied the holiday calender at work, I cannot book any holiday for the entirety of your stupid walk. Therefore, I shall have to work my shifts to have as many days off in a row as I can. Realistically, I should think I can get 7-8 days off meaning I could join you for at least 4 of them. You get to chose when!! Let me know and I will tell work which shifts I want and when. This also means I could join you more than once :)

  3. maybe for the start, and then a bit of the section around plymouth/exeter way? they're sections without need of youth hoste bookings, though if you wanted to do a section with yhas, i'd pick sooned rather than later cos they'd need to be booked. call sometime and i'll check the breakdown for public transportable joining points x
